The Kano State Police Command has made significant strides in combating crime, arresting five suspected kidnappers and cattle rustlers in Kiru and Tsanyawa local government areas. The operation, conducted on December 14, 2025, was intelligence-led and involved the Anti-Kidnapping Squad and other tactical units.
Four suspects were apprehended at Rahma Round in Kiru LGA, including Shafiu Ibrahim, 25, who confessed to being part of a kidnapping gang and involved in cattle rustling. A TVS motorcycle was recovered from him. Another suspect, Bishir Umar, 24, was arrested at Mahuta Village in Tsanyawa LGA while conducting surveillance. He admitted to entering Kano with accomplices on two motorcycles, armed with a rifle ¹ ² ³.
The police command commended the public for their cooperation and urged residents to continue reporting suspicious activities. The suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
