A devastating road accident occurred on the Ringim-Sankara-Beguwa Road in Jigawa State, Nigeria, claiming 11 lives and leaving 12 others injured. The accident involved a red Volkswagen Golf with registration number ND 983 XA, which was carrying about 23 passengers. According to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), the crash was caused by overloading and excessive speeding, leading to a tyre burst and loss of control ¹ ² ³.

The victims were rushed to Ringim General Hospital, where medical personnel confirmed the fatalities and treated the injured. The Jigawa State FRSC Sector Commander, Umar Masa'udu Matazu, condoled with the families of the deceased and urged motorists to obey traffic regulations to reduce road crashes, injuries, and fatalities in the state.
