Gunmen have abducted 28 travellers, including men, women, and children, in Zak community, Bashar district, Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State. The victims were on their way to attend a Maulud gathering in Sabon Layi when they were ambushed around 8 pm on Sunday night. The attackers took all the occupants, including two princes and a religious leader, into the bush, abandoning their vehicle ¹ ² ³.
The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the incident and launched an investigation. Residents are calling for increased security measures to address the growing cases of kidnapping, banditry, and cattle rustling in the area ¹ ².
