A violent attack by gunmen has shaken the community of Daron village in Gyel District, Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria. The incident occurred on Tuesday night, October 21, 2025, leaving two people dead and one injured.
The attackers, suspected to be armed Fulani, stormed the community around 7:50 p.m., shooting sporadically and causing widespread panic. The victims, including Mr. Pam Choji, sustained gunshot wounds and were rushed to the Plateau State Specialist Hospital, where they were confirmed dead on arrival.
The Plateau State Police Command has confirmed the attack and launched a manhunt for the assailants. Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Adesina, stated that security operatives responded quickly to the distress call and repelled the attack. He assured that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend the perpetrators ¹ ² ³.
