At just 12 years old, Emeka Nzeruike was @rrested in 2015 and thrown into pris0ñ without a trial, without Legal Representation, and without any formal charge.
For 10 Solid years, he remained locked up while his mates went to school, chased dreams, and built their lives.
He grew from a boy into a man behind bars a victim of a failed system.
On Monday, a court in Lagos finally struck out his case for lack of merit and ordered his unconditional release.
A human rights group, "Innocent Voices Nigeria," took up his case and fought tirelessly for his freedom.
As he walked out of the courtroom, Emeka kept asking repeatedly..
“Is this real?” the words of someone who had almost given up hope.
“This is why we exist,” said a member of the group.
“To find those buried by injustice and bring them back to life.”
Yet, despite all he’s suffered, no compensation has been offered. No apologies. No accountability. Yes! Because a 10 years old deserve Pris0ñ Abi or even Police Custody???

MORALS TO LEARN:
1. A br0ken system can destroy innocent lives.
Many Nigerians are in pris0ñ today for years without trial. This must end.
2. Not everyone in pris0ñ is guilty.
Innocent people are being punished while the real cr!minals walk free.
3. Justice delayed is justice denied.
A child lost 10 years of his life. He will never get them back.
4. New Lawyers/Barrister Please Speak up. Support the voiceless. I take God beg Una.
If "Innocent Voices Nigeria" didn’t step in, Emeka may still be in pris0ñ.
5. Our system needs urgent reform.
Police, courts, and prisons MUST do better. Nigeria MUST do better.
Emeka is free, but the Scars remain. Let’s ensure no other child suffers the same fate.
