Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has granted automatic employment to 50 outstanding graduates of the TechRise Cohort 2 programme, a three-month intensive training in cutting-edge digital skills. The 849 graduates, who completed the programme, received laptops, and prize winners got ₦100,000 each. The employed graduates will fill relevant positions in various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) within the state civil service, subject to completing required documentation ¹ ² ³.

Governor Otti emphasized that the TechRise initiative aims to create an elite corps of competent IT solution providers, driving development, innovation, and efficient service delivery in Abia State. The programme covered skills like full-stack development, cybersecurity, mobile app development, data and AI engineering, and digital arts ².

The governor also approved ₦50,000 Christmas packages for each graduate and transportation allowances to their local government headquarters. This move is part of Otti's administration efforts to boost digital transformation and youth empowerment in Abia State ¹ ².
