The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has expelled FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose, and former party National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu, citing anti-party activities. The decision was made during the party's national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, with delegates unanimously supporting the motion moved by Chief Olabode George and seconded by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed ¹ ² ³.

Others expelled include National Legal Adviser Adeyemi Ajibade, Umar Bature, Mohammed Abdulrahman, Mao Ohabunwa, Austin Nwachukwu, George Turner, Abraham Amah, and Dan Orbih. The party also dissolved the executives in Rivers, Abia, Imo, Plateau, and Enugu States ¹ ⁴.

Wike's aide, Lere Olayinka, responded to the expulsion, describing it as "Detty December in November", implying the decision was premature and lacking seriousness. The PDP convention, which began on November 15, aimed to restore unity and discipline within the party ahead of the 2027 general elections ⁵ ⁶.
