Bandits kill Zamfara APC chieftain, Umar Moriki

Umar Moriki, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Zamfara State, was killed by suspected bandits on Saturday, November 15, 2025, along the Gusau-Tsafe highway near Fegi village. He was 62 years old and had attended a stakeholders' meeting hosted by Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, earlier that day.

Moriki, who held several key political positions, including Vice Chairman of Zurmi Local Government Area and Special Adviser on Rural Electrification, was traveling from Gusau to Kaduna when he was ambushed.
