President Tinubu Sacks Service Chiefs, Appoints New Military Leaders

In a major shake-up, President Bola Tinubu has removed the existing Service Chiefs and appointed new military leaders to strengthen Nigeria's national security architecture. General Olufemi Oluyede has been appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff, replacing General Christopher Musa.

- *Chief of Army Staff:* Major-General W. Shaibu
- *Chief of Air Staff:* Air Vice Marshal S.K. Aneke
- *Chief of Naval Staff:* Rear Admiral I. Abbas
- *Chief of Defence Intelligence:* Major-General E.A.P. Undiendeye (retains position)

President Tinubu expressed appreciation to the outgoing Service Chiefs for their patriotic service and dedicated leadership, while charging the new appointees to uphold professionalism, vigilance, and unity within the Armed Forces.

The President stated that the changes are part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria's national security architecture, and all appointments take immediate effect ¹ ² ³.
