Niger Police Arrest Man Who Exhumed Grandmother's Skull for Money Rituals

The Niger State Police Command has apprehended a 31-year-old man, Ahmadu Jiya, for allegedly exhuming his maternal grandmother's corpse and removing her skull for use in money rituals. The suspect was arrested alongside four accomplices.

Details of the Arrest
According to the police, Ahmadu Jiya obtained the skull to use in a money-making ritual to settle debts of over N2 million. He sold the skull to two individuals, Abubakar Mohammed and Mohammed Adamu, for N100,000, who then approached a herbalist, Mohammed Ndache, to perform the ritual.

Investigation and Arrest
The police arrested the suspects after receiving credible intelligence about their activities. During the investigation, it was discovered that the skull belonged to Ahmadu Jiya's maternal grandmother, who was over 90 years old at the time of her death.

Police Action
The police spokesperson stated that all the suspects have been taken to the State CID Minna for discreet investigation. The police have assured the public that they will take all necessary steps to ensure that the suspects face the full weight of the law [1].
