Plateau Group Rejects Tinubu's Nominee for North Central Development Commission

0
The Concerned Plateau Youth Forum has rejected President Bola Tinubu's nomination of Cyril Tsenyil as the Managing Director of the North Central Development Commission (NCDC). The group claims Tsenyil's appointment is politically influenced and doesn't reflect the collective interest of Plateau State people.

*Allegations of Favoritism*
Tsenyil, who served as Plateau State Accountant General during Senator Simon Lalong's administration, was nominated for the top position allegedly through Lalong's influence. The group argues that this nomination "smacks of favoritism, cronyism, and total disregard for competence and broad-based representation".

*Call for Withdrawal*
The group's spokesperson, Danladi Pam, has urged President Tinubu to withdraw the nomination, citing Tsenyil's alleged unpopularity among Plateau people and the potential insult to the North Central region's collective sensibilities. They demand a more inclusive and transparent process.

*Planned Protest*
The Concerned Plateau Youth Forum plans to submit a formal protest letter to the National Assembly, urging them to reject Tsenyil's confirmation. They emphasize the need for merit-based appointments to avoid past mistakes in similar commissions ¹ ².
